California wildfires impacted over a million acres this week. Though feared destroyed, most of the ancient redwoods at the oldest state park withstood the blaze. Among the survivors is a 2,000-year-old tree known as the "Mother of the Forest." One newspaper headline read, "Scorched, But Still Standing."
